SUPPORT CHANGE
We invite you to support Provincetown's 5th Annual Juneteenth Celebration, taking place from June 13th through June 22nd, 2025. No donation is too small!!!
For the past four years, our interracial working group has been dedicated to commemorating, celebrating, and educating the community about Juneteenth. This year's celebration will feature a week of exciting community events:
● Art Show Opening Party: The celebration begins on Friday, June 13th, at The Commons with an opening party for "Power, Joy & Resilience," an art show featuring six queer BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and/or People of Color) artists.
● Juneteenth Celebration & Cookout: The annual Juneteenth Celebration & Cookout will be held on the National Juneteenth holiday, Thursday, June 19th, on the lawn of the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House. The event will include speeches from local community members and performances by local artists of color.
● Artist Reception: A second event will be held at The Commons, an Artist Reception on Friday, June 20th.
● Cabaret Performances: The week concludes with two evening cabaret performances by James Jackson, Jr., on Saturday and Sunday, June 21st and 22nd at The Gifford House. Mr. Jackson, an Obie Award winner for his work in the Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical A Strange Loop, is also an arts educator and cabaret artist. His performances will draw upon his research into the history of performers of color in Provincetown.
