call for queer bipoc artists

  • the show

POWER, JOY & RESILIENCE JUNE 11-JUNE 23 This show was created for the purpose of amplifying the voices of our queer bipoc community through art. Please submit 2-6 artworks* and a short statement how they relate to this year’s theme (200 word max) with your social media handle. We also love new inspired work when available. Artworks can range from traditional fine art mediums, craft, and sculpture to film.  Ideally each artist selected will have multiple pieces on display for a more comprehensive expression of their vision. We are here for any and everything so feel free to drop us a line with any questions or concerns you may have [here] , and please share with any people you think are a good match. * Submit digital images (1200 pixels min) for 2D work, and videos of sculpture and video submissions.

  • the space

THE COMMONS has a great design, location and is truly treasured by locals and tourists alike.  The main level is where you’ll find the sculpture garden and main gallery spaces, while the lower levels house art studios and offices. — “Built on the traditions and strengths of Provincetown’s history, we’re an intergenerational community committed to supporting the town’s effort to both preserve and grow the arts as a vital part of our economy and as a facet of our tourism.” — Through the years The Commons had hosted some amazing moments in the town’s history and we hope to add to it!  you can learn more about the space here.

  • the comp

PLAY TO PAY. Despite having the best intentions of equity and access when putting together an exhibition such as this, it can feel burdensome to artists who often participate in “political” shows, between the production costs and momentary exposure as compensation. So…a rewrite. The artists in this show will be given

    • $200 Stipend for Social Media Marketing Participation

    • 100% of Sales from artwork

    • Inclusion on our website’s “virtual gallery” for the show and marketing materials

    • Artwork moving assistance.

    • We’re also in the works of getting more perks for participants… more on that later.
